چکیده

Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic pathogen that has been implicated as one of commonest cause hospital and community acquired infections. The capsule important virulence factor, involved in pathogenic mechanisms. So, this study aimed to isolateKlebsiella from different clinical samples patients Al-Diwaniyah teaching determine some factors (capsulegenes)that used for serotyping isolates. The extended fromAugust  November 2020.A total 31 isolates 80 identified by traditional biochemical tests ,Vitek system 16SrRNA gene. The existenceof three genes from7tested capsulargenes wasdetectedby Polymerase chain reaction. The commonness serotype were k2,k54,k57 where K2 detected 4 (12.9 %), K54 12 (38.7 %),k57 (12.9).But, the other capsular polysaccaride k1,k3,k5,k20not detectedin all study.

Detection of magA Gene in Klebsiella spp. Isolated from Clinical Samples

Objective(s): Klebsiella infections are caused mainly by K. pneumoniae and K. oxytoca. In the last two decades, a new type of invasive Klebsiella pneumoniae which contains mucoviscosity-associated gene (magA) has emerged. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of magA gene and to detect antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of Klebsiella   spp. isolated from clinical samples....

Detection of the Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC) in K. pneumoniae Isolated from the Clinical Samples by the Phenotypic and Genotypic Methods

Background and Objective: The production of carbapenemases especially Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC) is the most important mechanism of enzymatic resistance in isolated Enterobacteriaceae such as K. pneumoniae. The purpose of this study was detected of the carbapenemase producer K. pneumoniae strains with phenotypic and genotypic ...

Detection of CTX-M-β Lactamases form Isolated Klebsiella pneumoniae

Background and Objective: Organisms producing CTX-M β-lactamases are emerging as a source of resistance to oxyiminocefalosporins such as ceftriaxone and ceftazidime. However, the laboratory detection of these strains is not well defined. In this study, phenotypic assay for screening of extended-spectrum β-lactamases producing strains and molecular assay for the identification of CTX-M β-lact...

Antibiotic susceptibility pattern of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from urine samples

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are one of the most common infectious diseases (Kolawale et al., 2009; Delanghe et al., 2000; Hryniewicz et al., 2000). They may be symptomatic or asymptomatic, and either type of infection can result in serious sequelae if not appropriately treated (Pezzlo, 1988). Although different causative agents can be responsible for UTIs, bacteria are the major cause being...

Multiple Antibiotic Resistance and Esbl Producing Klebsiella Pneumoniae Isolated from Clinical Urine Samples

Klebsiella Pneumoniae is a non-motile gram-negative bacterium that belongs to the family Enterobacteriaceae and that has become a well-recognized cause of nosocomial infections. Multi-drug resistance Klebsiella has been recognized as a cause of hospital acquired infections world wide. (Nima et al., 2008; Keynan and Rubinstein, 2007). They cause different kinds of infections, for example, pneumo...
